Boeing offers tools and resources that can help you get more out of your health care and dependent care dollars.
Our Castlight online shopping tool can help you find high-quality care at the best price — and keep an eye on what you’re currently spending when you need care.
Castlight can help you:
- Find a new provider
- Access your insurance card
- See claims data quickly
- View all of your health plan information, medical deductible and HSA balance in one place
Castlight is available to employees and their covered dependents enrolled in a medical plan option administered by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, Aetna, or Cigna. Boeing Aerospace Operations (BAO) employees are not eligible.
Rx Savings Solutions can help you save on prescription drugs. This service shows lower-cost medications covered by insurance and notifies you when you could save money. You also have access to GoodRx coupons to help you save money.
Boeing’s Total Rewards benefits include ways to pay for health care and child or elder care with pre-tax dollars.
Health Savings Account (HSA)
If you enroll in Boeing’s Advantage+ health plan, you may be able to contribute to an HSA. The money you put in the HSA can be used to pay for qualified medical expenses on a tax-free basis. You may receive an annual contribution to your account from Boeing, too. An HSA can be a valuable savings tool because the money is always yours to use — even in retirement.
If you’re planning to use the HSA as one more way to save for qualifying medical expenses in retirement, you can invest your HSA in a number of low cost mutual funds through HealthEquity. Maintaining a minimum balance in your HSA is not required. You can start investing as soon as your funds are deposited to your HSA. Additionally, there are no fees to invest or to use HealthEquity advisory services.
Note: Contributions to an HSA and any gains from HSA fund investments are exempt from federal income tax. However, some states, including California and New Jersey, tax HSA contributions and investment gains.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)
FSAs help you pay for the things you need — like child care or health care — using pre-tax dollars you set aside throughout the year.
Boeing offers two types of FSAs:
- Health Care FSA: You can contribute to a Health Care FSA to help pay for qualified medical, dental (including orthodontia) and vision care expenses. Certain unused amounts in your Health Care FSA may be carried over into the next plan year.
- Dependent Care FSA: You can contribute to Health Care FSA to help pay for qualified medical, dental (including orthodontia) and vision care expenses. Certain unused amounts in your Health Care FSA may be carried over into the next year.
